This restaurant offers an inviting ambiance with a strong focus on authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. While the food, including mofongo and roast pork, garners praise for deliciousness and affordability, inconsistent presentations and customer service experiences have raised concerns. Reports indicate a disconnect regarding typical Puerto Rican meal pairings and communication issues with management. Despite some negative feedback, many diners appreciate the friendly staff and the overall warm atmosphere. Whether for breakfast or lunch, it's a spot that leaves visitors feeling at home in a laid-back setting.

If you're in search of authentic cuisine and are willing to venture a bit off the beaten path, look no further than Bajareque, located at 278 Northwest 36th Street, Wynwood, 33127. You can reach them at (305) 576-5170. The food here is fantastic and delicious, with a lovely atmosphere and a wonderful staff. It's a great spot for Puerto Rican soul food, and it's definitely a must-try if you're in the Midtown area. You’ll find it just 2.5 blocks west of the Ross store at the corner of North Miami Avenue and Northwest 36th Street.

This is one if those places that doesn't look like much on the outside, but is neat as a pin inside and delivers extraordinary food at a great price. Perfect plantains have a smooth texture, but a thin almost crispy sweet exterior. Even the white rice is great. Eggs were cooked to perfection, I prefer halfway between over medium and over hard, and they were done exactly that way. The toast is sublime, PR bread grilled cracker thin on the grillpress. Very nice people and service. Gotta try this one.

El Bajareque is in the heart of little San Juan and everything a boriqua cafe/restó should be! I sat at the counter across from the espresso machine next to stacks of to go cups waiting for their moment and a can of florecitas. The Puerto Rico decor was on point and the whole ambiance really made me feel like I was in the heart of Puerto Rico. I got a cortadito, the bacalaitos (fire) the gandules (perfect flavor) and bistec jibarito. Would love to come back and try more!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
