Canton Star - Miami
Canton Star
Description
A longtime Kendall Chinese favorite blends nostalgia with uneven execution: regulars praise generous portions, classic dishes (special fried rice, Mongolian beef, orange chicken), attentive service and fast, accurate takeout from a clean, nicely decorated strip‑mall spot with good parking. Critics report inconsistent flavor and quality, pricing mismatches, and limited services. Best for families and loyal takeout customers seeking value, though occasional declines in taste, spotty amenities and service variability suggest managing expectations.

Before Covid was a very good restaurant. Now is impoverished. I do not recommend.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Miami. I’ve been going here for years and have never been disappointed. The pandemic makes dine in unavailable but I remember my experience as a kid eating there and I always enjoyed the service. Since the pandemic one of my favorite food items has changed slightly (Wonton Soup) but overall the food is still the same: enjoyable. I am a regular at this restaurant because the food is so amazing and the portions I receive is a good price for lasting me both lunch and dinner. I even sometimes have enough leftovers for the next day. The price is fair for the quantity they put into it. Unlike other restaurants which are stingy with their containers for Take Out, Canton Star has always made sure their containers are filled to the brim that the top even expands outward with all the food packed in. The size you pick you can rest assured is exactly what you’re paying for. When calling, the time estimate is always incredibly accurate. My food has always been ready by the time they told me, which is quite fast for the quantity I order. In the years since childhood I’ve been going here, I have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Prices were different from online and the food was awful. cheese wontons were the worst I ever had. I mean i couldn't even force myself to eat it. singapore rice noodles was very dry the chicken inside taste like imitation meat and those two items wasn't worth the 22$ dollars I paid and the sauce for the wontons was just enough to dip the 6 pieces which means the container wasn't even half full. Never again!
This was the first time I returned to the canton Star since the pandemic. They do not offer dine in. Ordered shrimp w/veggies. The food was served hot and had lots of shrimp and a variety of vegetables. I really appreciated that I was given a generous amount of shrimp! The only reason I took a star away was that it didn’t have much asian flavor. It tasted like steamed shrimp veggies, something I could have cooked at home. Very light flavor, not oily. I did not receive a fortune cookie: .
