Bazaar Mar by Jose Andres at SLS Brickell - SBE

My dining experience was TERRIBLE because I arrived with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday only to find out that the restaurant is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. We drove the hour from Fort Lauderdale in rush hour Friday night traffic to eat at this place we all loved. I was NEVER notified at any point by open table or Bazaar Mar of the closing. I am highly disappointed and don’t think I will ever dine at another one of Jose Andres’ restaurants ever again.

I made my reservation 3 weeks prior to being in Miami. When trying to change the number of guests for the reservation the concierge at the hotel informed me that the restaurant closed on April 1. This was also confirmed by a phone call. very disappointed that the restaurant did not let me know nor did you know.

The service left a lot to be desired. The first 4 wines I chose were not available, as was 30% of the menu items we chose. The first waiter we had took forever to attend to us and when he did, we had to request our drinks to be brought to us 3 times. A few dishes were outstanding, the olives, the fennel cake etc.. but some were mediocre, the baby squid, the lion fish, etc. When we complained to the manageress who took one of th champagne bottles off the bill, but the harm was done.

We had a wonderful dinner and the unique experience. Each of the nine dishes we tried once unique that we had never tried before and they all tasted amazing. The staff was fantastic. The sad news is we found out that I went to last night that the restaurant was open. They are closing in town and opening up new concepts around the United States. We wish the staff the very best as we had an awesome dinner

I have never been reported at any place of open table or basar mar from the closure. I am very disappointed and do not think that I will ever eat again in another of jose Andres’ restaurants.
