There r als... read more Excellent food served with smiles. We could not get a booking for dinner, so we had lunch instead. They have both a la cart menu and a tasting menu. There r also daily specials and the waitor introduced them to us. First, french bread was served warm. The bread spread was made from goat cheese and grilled eggplants. The smoky flavor is so nice. My husband had oysters which was fresh and tastfull. I had Kapachi and tuna, raw fish combination. The sauce is light using soysauce and ginger with vinaigrette. Not over powering and bring out the full flvor of the fish. I would order another one if I had room for it. My husband's main dish is todays special: lobster pasta. The lobster is so tender, and the sauce is full of flavour yet not heavy. I had the slow cooked ox tongue, again very tasty. We had no room for desert. So we only read the dersert menu. Overall, we loved everything we had including the mexican white wines we had.

We ordered off menu but couple next to us did pr... read more Absolutely lovely dining experience at Maximo. You have two dining choice, order off full menu or pre fix menu. We ordered off menu but couple next to us did pre fix. Like most upscale restaurants, portions are not huge but very high quality ingredients and taste have you leaving satisfied. We had octopus ceviche, mixed salad (really good), wagyu tongue, Wagyu NY steak and chocolate and caramel cake. All excellent. They have a nice wine list and one can find reasonably priced bottles, especially from Spain, and many high value wines if you like to splurge. Service was excellent, just at right level. Food came out at right time so you can enjoy each course. Comfortable and well decorated inside with open kitchen.

Maximo has... read more Short version: Maximo Bistrot should be embarrassed. In a city with so many great restaurants, do not eat here. The food and service are disgusting. Maximo has a great reputation but that must be prior to moving into a new location. We ordered the tasting menu and left before getting all of the courses because of how bad the food and service were. Waiters brought us stuff we didn't order, didn't bring us stuff we did order, and brought us items out of order while saying they were extra courses. What a complete s show. The porcini mushroom soup couldn't decide whether it was a cream or broth soup. The potatoes and mushrooms were raw. Why does the tasting menu have two scallop dishes and why were they served back to back? The sea bass was bland with oily skin and mushy. That's when we decided we had enough of this prison food. It doesn't help that the waiters are literally dressed like prison guards. The waitstaff is utterly untrained and has no idea what's going on or what they are serving. The first two dishes were brought out in a timely manner but then every thing just halted. We simply stopped receiving our courses without explanation or any interaction from the wait staff. There are just too many good restaurants in this city to give Maximo a chance. For your own sake, do not eat here.
