We ordered the pulled pork and the burnt ends. The pulled pork was a bit dry and could have used some additional flavor, but the burnt ends were to die for! We planned on getting the brisket, but they had already sold out around 13.00 (weekday). Service was great. A bit loud but a nice location! View all feedback.
What Jared Mumley doesn't like about Clyde Cooper's Barbeque:
Clyde Cooper’s is a Carolina Staple and while the atmosphere and vibe were totally on point, I was sadly disappointed by the barbecue. I certainly enjoyed my lunch but compared to a few other places around town, I was left disappointed. The chopped pork was a little too strong in vinegar, it even pooled at the bottom of my tray, and the brisket was tough and underwhelming. Five stars for service and atmosphere. Three... I spent some time walking around Downtown Raleigh this afternoon and decided to stop here to get lunch! The server, Sarah, was amazing and she was so nice! I wasn't very hungry so she let me order off of the kids menu. I really appreciated this since I also have health issues and have to be careful of when I try new foods! I decided to get the kids meal that came with a fried chicken leg, a vegetable, and 2 hush puppies. I got extra crispy fries for the vegetable and I added an order of 6 hush puppies as well. It was delicious! The team checked on me multiple times, the restaurant wasn't too loud and it was really clean! On top of my delicious meal, I also enjoyed the air conditioning (it is super hot outside today) Thank you, Sarah, and the rest of the Clyde Cooper's Barbeque team for a delicious lunch! I will definitely be back!!
Finally goot to try the ribs after the3 time going there and bein told they were sold out. I wasn't impressed, the ribs lacked flavor.

The brisket was tough and bland. The brisket at The Original Q Shack and Lawrence's BBQ is better. The mac and cheese tasted like melted Velveeta cheese over noodles. The mac and cheese at Lawrence's BBQ is way better. Also, try a soul food spot for better homemade tasting mac and cheese. Finally, the greens were under seasoned.
Phenomenal experience. Ordered delivered catering and it was fantastic. Great food, plenty of it, and reasonably priced!
