they make their own eggrolls and they are to die for. Menu is good, both Chinese as well as Canadian food. the combinations are good portions and easy on the old pocket book. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Bamboo Garden:
I used to visit this place weekly for its buffet, now it seems very sparse, dried out and picked over ... sad really.I tried the take away last night ... :( the two chicken dishes had mostly (like 80%) green peppers and was tasteless, just hot with no flavour. Would not recommend 1/10 View all feedback.
Although I haven 't been in awhile, this used to be a favorite place of mine. I understand it 's under new ownership since my last visit which could explain the changes. Speaking of my last visit a few years ago, since there was no veggie combo, back then I had asked about a sort of build my own plate with 2 or 3 veggie items and was told no problem at all, if you see it on the menu we can add it to your plate , now it 's NO substitutions, no exceptions at all and still no veggie combo as most places have. Waitress seemed nervous to even go back to the kitchen to find out the answers to my questions. The portions on the combo plate my husband had was small compared to last visit anywhere else for that matter, probably half the sizes as anywhere else. Since I couldn 't get a veggie combo I ordered two items, one which came after my partner was half way done his meal and the second dish only came well after he was finished his meal, even though they weren 't busy, only one other table in the place. On top of all that, just my own meal was $25 just so I could have a veggie variety. Whole experience very disappointing in my opinion and I won 't be back. I 'll stick to Yarmouth or continue on to Digby where I can get the variety I 'm looking for and for better prices.
Placed a takeout order, ended up with the wrong meal entirely which isn’t the end of the world, I called them as soon as I found out I didn’t have what I had ordered expecting them to offer me a replacement meal, the owner was quite rude and said they would not offer me a replacement or credit, said it was my mistake and that she was busy and didn’t have time to deal with this foolishness... Definitely not the kind of service I would have expected! In the end it is the service that makes or breaks any business and this is a prime example of poor customer service. I will not ever be returning to this restaurant after tonight, the Lotus Gardens restaurant in yarmouth will get my business from this point onward!
Decided to stop in after reading about the egg rolls here on Trip Advisor. The restaurant looks newly renovated, very polished. The bathrooms are well cared for and clean. The menu is almost totally Chinese with only 3 Canadian items on the menu..hot chicken, hot beef or a grilled cheese sandwich. side order of fries is also available. They have 19 different combos for 1...something for everyone I should think. I order a combo of Sweet/sour chicken, rice, and cashew guy ding and an egg roll for $11.95 They also offer dinner options (a la carte), and chef specialties, I liked the menu. The first thing I liked is the plum sauce dispenser..An actual bottle on the table that you can pour as much as you want...none of these little packets or those darned paper cups that hold a Tablespoon or so. And the plum sauce was tasty. The egg rolls....definitely one of the best in the area... A nice meaty filling..not one of those cabbage filled ones but a rich meat filling. Excellent! The combo consisted of 3 nice sized chicken balls, a decent portion of the guy ding and rice. I thought the portion size was just right. I think so many of us now expect huge portions at every restaurant. I like the portion. Hubby ordered the Combo 19 which consisted of 4 chicken balls, 5-6 honey garlic spareribs (fell off the bone tender), beef and broccoli (lots of beef), chicken fried rice and the egg roll for $14.50. A big meal and he enjoyed it all. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in the SW corner of Nova Scotia and is definitely on our list of 'return visits '
We came here because it is the nearest restaurant of our friendly house and we enjoyed our time here. eating was good, but the service was a little slower than expected. they are one of the Chinese restaurants that serve the egg rolls separately from the meal and we would have preferred everything together, so if they want them with their meal, make sure they ask. everything we have ordered came on a separate teller and came to various times, which is one of the reasons why I distract from restaurants. the experience was however different from the good. good eating, great friendly staff, and they even gave us roses to Mother's Day. they have to give them additional credits to support my assessment up to four.
Eating is fantastic, owners and staff too great, but it is a little expensive to make it a regular occasion for me, although I am close to how drinking are just a little small. it's a tasty bite and we'll go every blue moon. they have no buffet that would make it brilliant.
