Saltgrass Steak House - Metairie

Had reservations here for Mother?s Day, we arrived and were seated immediately. Salad was fresh and delicious. The food took a little while but it was Mother?s Day and busy. Our food comes out and I take one bite of my macaroni and cheese and notice every one to the left of us uncontrollably coughing. All the sudden it hit us and we as well were coughing, eyes watering and nose running. Everyone started running around like crazy most people evacuated the restaurant. We were told someone sprayed pepper spray inside the restaurant?.We were then brought the check and boxes?. From what I got to taste the food was great but some accommodations should have been made instead of just giving us the bill and boxes after we made reservations and couldn?t go anywhere else to enjoy a meal because it was Mother?s Day and everywhere was booked. We could have been offered seating on the side of the restaurant that was not affected or something. I wanted to eat out, I didn?t want to eat at home. While I understand it was not the restaurant?s fault for what happened, I feel it was the restaurants responsibility to accommodate people in some kids of way to make sure we had a good experience and enjoyed the food.

We had bad experiences with 2 restaurants that say they are pet friendly, but don't let us on their outdoor terrace with the dog. We went to Saltgrass and the experience was great. Victoria was super sweet and brought water for the puppy. The hostess was also super nice. Very good experience. We'll be back.

The waiter was efficient, fast, polite and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was family friendly and entered a regular family restaurant. My steak was hard, even though everyone else was satisfied with their food. Maybe I have a hard steak? Who knows? I wanted to see you again.? So, you choose, but you should try.

This restaurant has become one of my favorite. The food quality sets it apart from many others in the area. Great customer service and reasonable price. The frozen margaritas are a must if you visit this place.

Saltgrass in Metairie opened at 11 am. I purchased a meal (NY Strip, macaroni and salad) for myself and 3 soups. My mother is currently in the hospital and she absolutely adores the potato soup with Saltgrass. I consumed my NY strip and macaroni earlier in the day and decided to save my Caesar salad as a evening snack. Upon taking several bites of my salad, towards the end, I noticed there was a baby roach in the lettuce. I immediately stopped eating and contacted Saltgrass 3x. I spoke with a manager, Derrick. After explaining said situation, he placed me on hold and upon coming back to the line stated he checked the lettuce and there were no bugs. He then proceeded to offer another salad and appetizer complimentary on tomorrow. Being that I didn?t have a great experience with the previous salad, why would I want another? I was a manager at a hotel where I managed food and beverage. The resolution offered and wording was unacceptable. Anyone who decides to eat here, please check your food thoroughly!
