I have never been let down by this restaurant. The food is fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Saint Charles Bennie and the one tomato, two tomato Bennie. The fried chicken was light and crispy, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The Mimosa flight was my favorite!
We have dined at multiple Ruby Slippers locations, and this Metairie location is our favorite! We didn't have to wait long for a table with outdoor seating. Our server, Christy, informed us about the specials and gave us some excellent recommendations. We decided to try a variety of dishes. For starters, we enjoyed the loaded tots with added bacon, which were delicious. I ordered the homemade biscuits and gravy, which were full of flavor with generous portions of ground sausage and crispy bacon. My husband tried the three little pigs breakfast and enjoyed it, although he would prefer a different side dish than the fried potatoes next time. He also added a cinnamon roll pancake, which was fantastic - make sure to order one as an entree or as an additional pancake! My mom opted for the upside down pineapple cake pancakes, which she enjoyed but mentioned she would like to try the cinnamon roll pancake next time. We also tried the Very Berry stuffed French toast, which was the best I've ever had. Thank you to Christy for the wonderful suggestions!
Great spot for a recovery meal. Nothing like a breakfast margarita and a warm biscuit to help with the hangover I was struggling with. Food and beverage menu has about everything you could possibly want for breakfast/brunch. I had the avocado toast; it was light, delicious savory but very different. My husband had the breakfast tacos but the eggs were over cooked and had that burnt/stuck to the skillet taste.….the side potatoes were prepared like we like ‘em, crispy and salty! Our waitress named Christy gave us a warm welcome, was attentive and made excellent beverage recommendations. She suggested some of her favorite entrees and popular choices for our next visit. I want to make one complaint regarding the seating experience. The chairs are so uncomfortable with wooden seat bottoms and metal backs. We are disabled Veterans with beat up hips and back and would love to see a replacement from the current setup to a booth style dining area or cushioned seats. We’ll definitely be returning.
After asking a few locals for a great breakfast place. Ruby Slipper was mentioned with much enthusiasm. And we were not disappointed with this amazing food. Just try it you won't be disappointed!
I visited around 10am on a weekday because parking is terrible here on the weekends. Christy was our server and she was awesome, very helpful and present throughout our visit! My cocktail (Lavender Paloma) was ehhh but the food made up for it. I had the mixand match Bennies, and chose the Abita Braised Beef Benedict and Eggs Cochon Benedict. Both were excellent but I liked the EggsCochon slightly better. My mouth waters every time I think about them lol. The other guest had the Southern Breakfast and alsoenjoyed it. Also worth mentioning, the biscuits here are huge and very good! Will definitely return?but only during the week!
