I got the seafood gumbo to go. It’s good gumbo with a nice roux. As gumbos go that aren’t made with love at home, the shrimp have all the texture cooked out of them. I also found it odd — and maybe even blasphemous — to be in Louisiana and have my gumbo serve with “West Creek” hot sauce (whatever that is). The service was friendly and I’d consider coming back to try other things. View all feedback.
What Katina Doty doesn't like about Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews:
Shrimp were good but the po-boy was really dry. Crawfish etofee was good. Jambalaya was overcooked. Very stuffy inside. Someone was working on the air conditioning. View all feedback.
Stopped in during my recent trip to NOLA. This was some of the most bland gumbo I've ever had. It lacked any form of spice. Service was quick and friendly.
Had a roast beef po boy, and gator bites and seafood gumbo. Chef Ron knows what he is doing, making JWU proud. For a first meal in New Orleans it was a good pick.
Excellent food took a little bit but definitely worth the wait.
Overall, everything was okay The shrimp mango salad was especially delicious!!! The portion was so large that I couldn't eat it all. Seafood gumbo 4 Bayou scampi 3.5 Shrimp and mango salad 5
