Chalet Mestia

A beautiful restaurant in Mestia and a very good place to try authentic Svaneti cuisine. Thanks to the hostess Diana for her warm hospitality and chef Shorena for the delicious dishes. We truly appreciate both.

Very nice place. Beautiful interior. Good selection of Georgian and Svan dishes, as well as wine. Incredibly sweet Diana advised what to choose, helped to console the child and generally accepted her as if she were family.

We came to Mestia for three days and ended up dining in this restaurant the whole time, it was that good. First of all, great many thanks to Diana, best host ever! As for food it was amazing, especially traditional Svan dishes, those were straight up amazing. And at very much affordable price at that. Us three grown up men ate to our hearts content, while having a bottle of red wine to go with our meal for somewhere around 120 150 lari. And last, but not least, the interior of the restaurant is clean, tidy and very atmospheric, with some little touches here and there that make you feel like you are dining in some modern day Svan hunters lodge. All and all, the place is amazing, and even though we haven't visited every restaurant in Mestia, we visited some others, and kept going back to this one each time. This is definitely the best place in town to eat, drink and recharge for next days adventures. I absolutely recommend it.
