When... read more I haven't eaten so well in a very long time. Admittedly, when I entered I initially thought it was a “pub kitchen”, but the impression faded very quickly. When the food came, it was finally clear that they could do their job. It was hot and stayed warm until the last bite, and as already mentioned, it was really tasty. I haven't written a review for a long time this one is worth it. A real recommendation! Main menu dessert two large drinks for just over €30 are also absolutely within the green range. However, we weren't informed during the reservation process th... read more Weeks ago, we booked a table for eight people (five adults and three children) for Christmas Day. However, we weren't informed during the reservation process that only a special set menu would be available. The three-course menu cost €39.50 for adults and €22.50 for our eight-year-old children. The service was generally very friendly. We asked if we could choose just one main course from the menu, which was confirmed. However, in the end, we were only given a €5 discount each. So, we ended up paying €34.50 for one adult dish and €17.50 for the frozen children's schnitzel with fries, which was deep-fried. These prices were completely disproportionate to the quality, quantity, and the usual price range at the Dollenhof. For example, my husband saw the venison goulash, which cost €34.50 yesterday, but is listed as €18.50 on other days. This was completely unacceptable. We will not be returning.

It was Christmas, so we took a chance and saw if there was a table available. We were lucky. Apparently, a group had cancelled. It was fantastic. The starter, main course, and dessert were all excellent. Where else can you eat for that price at Christmas? And it was delicious. A lovely German-style restaurant with incredibly friendly service. I just read a review from a woman who only wanted a main course and found it expensive because she only got a 5 euro discount. Well, for that price, she really shouldn't complain. Just try eating anywhere else for that price at Christmas. By the way, that comment about the frozen schnitzel is also incorrect; it was of excellent, fresh quality. It's a shame that some guests undermine hardworking people who try to please everyone. For us, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely be back. And that woman should go to a 5-star restaurant with 5-star prices at Christmas from now on.
