A rustic and welcoming place, perfect for those who love authentic flavors. Simple but well-prepared dishes, and a truly delicious pizza made with quality ingredients. Friendly service and a family atmosphere. Excellent p
Today we went to the restaurant Il Rusticone in Mesagne for the first time—my mother, Assunta Castaldi, my brother Raffaele Gargarelli, and my sister-in-law, Melania Di Cioccio. I must say that the first impression was very positive: the exterior is very original, making you feel like you're back in the Middle Ages, and the idea of crossing a jetty over a moat before entering a feudal castle gives you a sense of the antiquity present inside. The peaceful atmosphere feels like home, very welcoming and full of historical relics, all in wood. The entire staff is extremely kind and professional in their welcome, even the manager is very professional and kind. The food is exquisite, especially the house dish. The red wine is exceptional and pairs beautifully with the tender and succulent meat. Even the dessert, a chocolate-filled mousse, was a delight. Finally, coffee. All this for the modest cost of €30 per person. We were very happy, and will be back for the pizzeria on a Sunday evening. Everything was excellent. They have a garden outside where you can also sit on the sofas, especially in the summer. We will be back soon. Thin and crispy pizza. Decent dishes. Efficient service. 1980s-style atmosphere.
