I've been visiting this restaurant since the 1980s. Although it has changed ownership a few times, the quality of the food has remained outstanding. I particularly love their chicken fried rice with bean sprouts instead of peas and carrots. The egg foo young patties are both delicious and massive. I also really enjoy their chicken dishes, especially the sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken. The portion sizes are... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Kwan's Sampan:
I havent reviewed food in so long but I just couldn't not leave a review because the food was soooo disgusting!! Literally the worst Chinese take out ive ever eaten. Hard-stale noodles, bland chicken, just over all horrible food. View all feedback.

I've been coming to this spot for over 10 years. The food is always hot and fresh, fast service open seating from booth to tables. Great place to stop in and try out some lunch specials or dine for dinner. Serving up family style portions. Vibe is very casual with a small bar located inside separate from dining area.

I was so disappointed that 'fried rice ' doesn 't mean what it used to mean at this restaurant. They charged me $1.50 to select fried rice over white rice, but there 's nothing to it but a few drops of soy sauce added. I remember fried rice always included mixed vegetables and scrambled eggs. However, this is the second Asian restaurant attempting to save money and now fried rice DOES NOT include either but maybe soy sauce for a flavor. In the late 60 's and in to the early 2020 's, I used to be able to find authentic fried rice. This is not the case anymore. I will stop patronizing restaurants who cheat me out of what I requested.

This is a great neighborhood place for fresh delicious Chinese food. I love the shrimp chow mein, egg drop soup and wontons. The dining room is traditional Chinese decor. There is a bar on the other side where you can listen to music, watch the game, play pool or darts. Nicky the owner/bartender is warm and adorable. She really makes the place welcoming. I love this place suey much!

I rarely write reviews but this was so bad, I had too. How do they have 4 1/2 stars? Ordered Tempura Shrimp as an appetizer. This was the best part about this dinner. Ordered Cashew Chicken. I 've had this many times before at other restaurants. Thiswas terrible. Very bland and chicken was slimy. Never again. It was just bad. Ordered Sesame Beef from the Dinner of theEmperors section of the menu. Yeah right. Not sure if there was really any beef in there. More like breaded beef jerky. When Iwas scooping it from the 'to go ' container, it all stuck together like it had congealed together. Had to break it up. Shouldn 'tbe like that for having just been prepared. When eating I had to get the sharp steak knives to cut it. Very tough, dry &fibrous. See in the photo how clumped together it is. Gross. I really wanted to like this restaurant since it 's close to myhouse but never again. Bad food is one thing but this was terrible. I 'm not even going to save the leftovers. Seriously, howdo they have any stars? There goes $47.06 right down the toilet. Sorry to be so negative, but is was that bad. My son and Ijust looked at each other and he said, I don 't want to even eat it.

The lo mein was decent, but they put way too much corn starch in their sauces and it turns them all gelatinous and gross-feeling. Even the curry, while tasting pretty good, was all encased in jello.
