I always go to this restaurant with my aunt and uncle whenever I’m in town, and I’m consistently impressed. The service is outstanding, with friendly staff who treat you like family (the good kind!). The food is always delicious; I especially enjoy their Reuben and French dip sandwiches. They also have a fantastic selection of beers and a full bar menu. The restaurant features wheelchair-accessible tables and usually offers plenty of parking. I've only visited during midweek lunches, but I know it can get quite busy on weekends and in the evenings, which just goes to show how great this restaurant/bar is!
Watching Kansas City Chiefs games at this restaurant is always an enjoyable experience. I tend to encounter a new family almost every other week, and on this occasion, I connected with another wonderful group and had a fantastic time with them. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The drinks were also fantastic, and we all bonded over our love for football. The customer service here is exceptional. Honestly, it doesn't get any better than JJ Madison!
We decided to place our order despite our initial hesitations. We began with nachos and mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately, the nachos were served with burnt chips, and the cheese was cold—completely inedible. To make matters worse, they brought them out even though they knew how bad they were. The mozzarella sticks were disappointing as well; they were cold and accompanied by a marinara sauce that tasted like plain tomatoes. I've never sent food back before, but I felt I had no choice this time. The waitress was unhelpful and admitted they were out of proper chips, leading me to question why they didn’t just refuse to serve the burnt ones altogether. When I inquired about ordering something else, her response wasn’t the polite "Of course, I'm so sorry about that," but rather a curt "Well, what do you want?" delivered in a tone that suggested I better choose something she deemed acceptable. I was genuinely shocked by her attitude. Honestly, had my son not already placed his order, we would have left. I noticed she was also short with another table, which seemed to be experiencing issues with their food too. The service was entirely unacceptable. When we asked where the game would be shown on their screens, they didn’t have a clear answer, and when we inquired about seating, the response was vague. We even requested closed captioning, but that was denied as well. They did eventually turn up the volume, which was nice, but in such a loud restaurant, it hardly made a difference. I was just grateful it was only preseason and that it was just the two of us instead of bringing the whole family. My son had reservations about dining there and wanted to go to our usual spot, but I convinced him to try this place based on my previous experience. What a letdown.
