The food here is consistently top notch. The chef actually forages locally for delicious edibles like wild mustard greens, green briar tips and cherry blossoms, to name a few. The menu offerings are varied, unusual and wonderfully delicious. Another plus is that it's BYO, so you can bring the wines you love without paying restaurant prices. What Best Food Critic doesn't like about Park Place Café:
One of the least impressive atmospheres I 've seen, well ever frankly. Very childish. Food was mundane. The fresh ingredients are questionable at best. Plus the toilet wouldn 't even flush, what?? We will not be returning ever. View all feedback.
We've dined here three or four times, and each visit has been a true pleasure. While it may not be widely known, I can confidently say that this is some of the best food in the Philadelphia area. When Michelin visits, this restaurant definitely deserves some stars. I can't recommend it highly enough!
The best way to describe Chef Phil's fine dining restaurant is simply "Wow!" What could a small town possibly offer a worldly chef to inspire him to open and run a restaurant of such high caliber? I'm not certain, but Merchantville can certainly take pride in having access to this level of dining, even if it’s only three nights a week. The Maître d', Josh, is incredibly accommodating and plays a crucial role in making sure your experience is enchanting. Prepare for a selection of original and exciting dishes that await you.
Chef Phil is truly outstanding! His dishes are incredibly inventive, utilizing the finest ingredients, many of which are foraged from the local area. The service is exceptional—attentive and friendly, with each course perfectly timed so you never feel hurried. Currently, there's a fixed five-course menu, which includes a delightful homemade pasta dish. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the restaurant can only accommodate three tables at a time, so making a reservation is essential. Dinner is offered on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, starting at 5 PM. We frequently travel to Philadelphia for dining, and Park Place remains our top choice. If you love good food, you simply must experience Park Place as soon as you can!

Last week was the first time in this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had a good time with the excellent service, with the excellent food and booze and with the decent cost. We will absolutely come back soon.
