China Caff - Merced

This humble little restaurant serves some of the best Chinese food you can find. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable. Fantastic food at a great value!

The first time I visited this restaurant, I wasn't a fan, mainly because I didn't like the fried chicken and pork nuggets. I know many people enjoy their fried combination plates, but they just aren't for me. On the bright side, the prices and portion sizes are quite good. I highly recommend the string bean chicken, asparagus chicken, seafood delight, and beef chow fun. Occasionally, they use a bit too much black bean sauce, but it's never overly salty. The mapo tofu isn't spicy enough and feels like it's missing something, and the BBQ pork can be a bit tough. Personally, I'm not a fan of sweet Chinese-American dishes, which is why those are usually my choices. However, the family who runs the restaurant is lovely, and they really do serve a huge amount of food.

The food is great, and the customer service is excellent. They know my usual order, and I absolutely love it!

The shrimp chop suey is excellent, featuring fresh vegetables and shrimp. It's absolutely delicious!

I am quite particular about Asian cuisine, but this restaurant really impressed me. The atmosphere is lovely, and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Their lunch specials are a fantastic bargain, and they give you generous portions!
