The food was bad and the price quality not in balance. Service was bad and rude e.g. forgetting orders and mistakes in the billing. The pricing is not transparent e.g you need to pay extra for a sauce for your steak, whereas in all the other places it is included in your dish. I would never recommend this place!

He made us feel extremely uncomforta... read more The food was pretty reasonable, but the service ruined the whole experience. One waiter in particular was rude and abusive. He made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Considering the high prices they charge it was really gauling to have a special family occasion completely spoilt by the dismissive attitude. We raised our concerns with another member of staff who apologised profusely, but did not offer any discount or anything to compensate. A very disappointing and overpriced experience. We got the sense that they did. It really care and are just resting on their laurels.

Be prepared to wait at busy times and don’t bother hassling... read more This restaurant is used by plenty of locals. Ergo the food is good and good value. And it gets busy. Be prepared to wait at busy times and don’t bother hassling them. The service is not deferential so if you don’t like a bit of banter/back chat you may wish to avoid. We particularly enjoyed our exchanges with Patrick who mocked our French but spoke English like a South African so that was ok! But we can see from other’s reviews that the style of service at le Stanley is not everyone’s cup of tea.
