The waiter was lovely. The food was exceptional. We shared a main course of the spaghetti with prawns and a starter octopus. I actually ate TWO crème brûlées!!!! They were so good. View all feedback.
What Carlos Alonso doesn't like about Carnival:
The dinner was good with local food quite recommended, but the service very slow and we did not like the attitude it took with us after the request for change of table for having two smokers at the next table. View all feedback.
At the carnival, they serve a witch of salted oven fish that I highly recommend. here, you always get fresh fish and good pasta. If you want to have a dinner or lunch that doesn't dig too many holes in your pocket, they also have a tasty and affordable menu.
Why do you give a restaurant a lot of points? We were here on a Friday night and booked a table and we were given a better table at the initiative of the owner, it's a good start. Is it a fish or meat restaurant? I'd say both, and that's good too. We went fishing and ate pink shrimp and shared a flat fish cooked in the oven respectively, after having had delicious oysters passing by, a fantastic freshness and a more blonde size. the proposed eine was excellent. Then the apple cake, yes my wife's cake is better but still. my friend's calvados and my armangac were slightly heated to bring out the aroma of high-end coffee. the service was very professional and pleasant even if the owner is not exactly a comedian. less toilet, location on the edge of the old town by the port. the interior is also very pleasant in case the exterior is full. We paid 150 euros, which was more than reasonable. When we left, we were offered limoncello or good quality grappa. Now you know why I gave them all the points. Go enjoy it.
I've never had a bad lunch at the carnival. If you are looking for sophistication, pass your path. If you like fresh fish or fresh seafood cooked in Italian, you will enjoy your visit. lunch on the terrace, under the pergola and near the captainry, is a pleasant affair; service may be lacking at times of some efficiency but nothing drastic.
Very cozy and pleasant restaurant. we sat under the roof on the outside surrounded by herbs and other plants. We had the lobster with spaghetti. a very good taste meal based on lobsters that was alive when we entered the place. as dessert, we had the typical French tatin pie with vanilla ice. I'm sorry it was the last night to chin, but when I come back I'll go back to the carnival.
The location was attractive. a small picturesque square slightly in draw with a foliage and Mediterranean charm. the restaurant had an outdoor terrace but we decided to eat inside. rustic decoration well maintained. abundance of natural stones and plaster walls of rustic color, nice vaulted type ceiling and terracotta tile floor. We loved him. the kitchen was visible on the path of the toilet and everything seemed chief, busy and good omen. Unfortunately, it's the end of the good news. My wife chose to start with the anchovies leaf and I am the raw ham. The anchovie was not good. Very strange flavor. Too salty. hard dough background. My ham was cut too thick, making the meal difficult. I had to ask for olive oil and gem salt. certainly not the best ham I've had. no comparison with parma or iberico. disappointing. the main dishes were the fish pot and the spaghetti with ceps. Both were a disaster. The fish were cut off. filled with small but important bones. the two rather sad gambas were small and boiled to death. the portion of fish and the quality at the price were bad. Maybe the bisque was swept. The pasta was not good and we left them. we paid 72 euros for this and a very small glass of medium wine and a bottle of flat water. I think chin food is usually not good. French are rather complacent and seem to believe that their historical reputation is enough. Not if. the area is very frequented by tourists and I guess most are unlikely to return to the area, so they think they can get away with it. It's a shame and I couldn't recommend this restaurant. we visit the family regularly to chin, so we would like to find a decent restaurant at a reasonable price. even our family seems to have a bad time. Why? It's the france.
