Madera Lounge and Madera Restaurant at the Rosewood Sandhill have both managed to survive the pandemic and do it in style. The lounge is still a nice place for drinks on a Thursday to Saturday night. The food is still exceptional and the wine list and cocktails are still outstanding. The only thing that has changed is the crowds....they are gone for now, but sure to return soon. What User doesn't like about Madera At Rosewood Sand Hill:
not many places in the bay area have a raised terrace and participation, the drinks are ridiculously expensive, but it is rosewoods away to keep it kind of exclusiw View all feedback.
I would not recommend booking the flowers wine tasting. We were greeted and immediately taken to our tables. Menus had the birthday girls name on it-nice touch. And the view is always enjoyable. The rest of the event was not at the level of Rosewood or Madera. Unfortunately not impressed and disappointed that what was promised on the phone was not what was delivered. This was suppose to be the level of a flowers wine tasting and how it was sold. The wine was sitting outside and it was a warm day, so the wine was not at the temperature at which it should be served. The wine was a small pour and no 2nd pours were offered, even though the manager had communicated that there would be add’nl pours. We ordered 2 of the wine pairing boxes to enjoy with the wines. One of the cheeses were missing from one of the boxes. The waiter apologized and brought it to us on a plate after mentioning it was not there. I was asked on the phone prior to the day to approve adding a 20% tip, even though that is not customary when you are wine tasting. Happy to do so given this was suppose to be a high end experience. And every time we’ve eaten at Madeira it has been excellent service and food. Unfortunately the wine tasting is not up to par, and was ultimately a big disappointment. The view is always enjoyable!
Not many places in the Bay Area feature an upscale patio and attendance, the drinks are ridiculously priced but it's Rosewood's way of keeping it kind of exclusive
Experiences is three small tastes of wine. No food.
Party of 2, Bar reservation, patio. Each had a burger with fries $34), and cocktails $23 for named) . Burgers were good, loaded with fried egg and avocado. Fries just okay, soggy not crisp like they used to be. No more pickled vegetables. Seems like less choices/variety on the Bar menu and definitely more expensive. Service by Teresa was excellent as was the affogato dessert, not on the menu. Patio was nice, good spacing, comfortable, overhead electric heaters on/warm. Bang for the buck has gone down since my more frequent visits up to early this year.
I reserved a high top table online and they sat us at a lounge chair table. Not a huge deal but not what we would have preferred.
