The fish was lovely and battered to perfection, not like the usual overcooked stuff you get. The staff usually take a long time to serve orders because they spend so much time talking to each other, but not tonight. The staff was great. However, the restaurant seems to be missing out on business. Six people were turned away on a Tuesday night because they wanted to eat in the restaurant and ended up going to Wetherspoons. It's unfortunate that the business has declined due to some ignorant staff members. It's a shame because they have the monopoly in Wells as the only place for decent fish and chips. This may change when the new fish bar opens in the near future.

However, the fish and chips may not travel well and can become a bit flabby by the time you get home. This is not the restaurant's fault, as it happens with takeaway fish and chips from anywhere. Overall, this is a good place to dine.

Really nice food but can I suggest ditching the awful polystyrene containers. Think of the environment and just use paper to wrap tbe food in.
