Puddy - Mendip
Puddy
Description
Puddys Cafe offers a mixed experience, with highlights and low points. Diners are often drawn in by the appealing baked goods on display, and some appreciate the prompt service and friendly staff. However, many reviews lament the shoddy decor and outdated menu presentations, as well as inconsistent food quality, like overcooked dishes and occasional cleanliness issues. While some guests enjoy delicious takeaway options, others leave dissatisfied, citing long waits and lackluster meals. For those who value charm and character, Puddys may be worth a visit, but customers should manage expectations regarding the overall dining experience.

Went in today. Bought a small loaf, 2 x hot cross buns and 2 x pkts Easter Biscuits. £7:40 ! Would have been less than 1/2 that amount at a supermarket. Won’t be back anytime soon.
The waitress with dark hair was very helpful, but the two blonde waitresses went above and beyond for our group of 7 ladies during brunch. The service was great and the price per person was between £1 and £10.
This is my preferred bakery. The staff are always friendly and the cakes and pastries are delicious. I often get takeaway sandwiches that are made fresh to order, and they are so tasty! Also, be sure to try the bread pudding.
We won't be coming back. Over cooked breakfast, the only things not reheated were the bread and eggs, I'm just not a fan of reheated sausages and bacon. They were so overcooked we couldn't eat them. It's not like they take long to cook from fresh.... undercooked/solid jacket potatoe. 2 starts as the waiting staff were lovely and polite.
