Morrisons
Description
Morrison's Café presents a varied dining experience, with some patrons thrilled by speedy service and delightful breakfasts, while others lament untidy tables and poor food quality. While one visit features a friendly staff member who enhances the atmosphere, another reveals a lack of cleanliness and organization, causing guests to leave without ordering. Amidst this chaos, the café's post-pandemic improvements suggest potential for a better experience. Despite inconsistent service and cleanliness, loyal customers are drawn back by delectable dishes. Ultimately, diners seeking a pleasant meal may want to consider their options carefully.

30min wait to order my food only to be informed that it was a 30min wait on food. Cafe only half full and plenty of staff so not really sure why things were going so wrong. Adapting to changes in the pandemic are difficult I know. However, this was just badly managed. I felt sorry for the staff that seemed to be lost and unsure of what to do. Then to top it all off the food was cold. So after an hour wait, a cold plate of food, and some poor service I think my days of breakfast at Morrisons are over.
Had no option but to eat in the Cafe on one occasion, have to say the food was excellent. Our burger and scampi was better that what we had in one of the pubs in town.
I arrived at this restaurant around 9 in the morning for breakfast. It was quite peaceful as there were not many people around. The stocked items were well organized and being refilled regularly. The staff, particularly Karli, was very friendly and made our experience even better. We ordered a half English breakfast, a sausage wrap, coffee, and some sweet treats. To our surprise, our food arrived in less than 5 minutes and it all tasted and looked delicious. It seems that the restaurant has improved a lot since the pandemic, despite only having an average rating of 3 stars. The tables and chairs were also spotlessly clean, which was wonderful to see. Overall, we had a great breakfast experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick breakfast in the morning.
During the pandemic, we have found Morrison's cafes to be a safe dining option due to their spaced out tables with screens between them and their strict adherence to pandemic guidelines. Yesterday, we decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea and were delighted with the beautifully presented and delicious spread on a three-tier stand. It was on par with anything you would find at a 5-star restaurant. We are both over 70 and taking extra precautions to stay safe, so this experience really lifted our spirits. Thank you, Morrison's.
I waited in line for thirty minutes without any social distancing between groups and no effort to enforce it. The cakes and cold food were displayed in an open cabinet, unwrapped and open to everyone to touch or breathe on as they waited. Upon reaching the till, I was informed that there would be an additional thirty minute wait for food, which could have been communicated earlier. Customizing items on a breakfast took time for the chefs, but regardless of the changes made, customers were still required to pay for the items they did not receive. The self-service drinks machines appeared unclean and the staff seemed unproductive and unaware of proper mask-wearing etiquette. Gloves were not worn, even when handling plates and cutlery. I was disappointed with the overall experience, especially since the place used to be pleasant. It is surprising that their service has not improved given the current circumstances. The manager seemed to be lacking in supervision and only a fraction of customers were asked to fill out a track and trace form. Overall, I would not recommend this place and suggest having tea and toast at home instead. The food was not well-prepared and lacked proper grilling. Enjoy your visit if you choose to come here.
