I really wish that I could give the food a raving score but I can't. Just can't! The meatloaf was loose and was covered in what was supposed to be red Gravy but it was really a red juice and neither the meat nor the juice had any flavor. Although the vegetables were fresh and looked tasty, to my disappointment, they were only fresh. Not tasty and were only lukewarm. In fact, ALL of my food was only lukewarm. Even the pink Lemonade was lukewarm even in the pre-made Iced cup. This is definitely a homestyle restaurant that gave me Big Mama's kitchen vibes and of the food were hot and tasted better, I'd go back.Parking: Street parking is available, but the restaurant shares the building strip with a barber shop so if that business is open, the parking will be limited.

As I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the inviting atmosphere. There was ample seating available, reminiscent of a large church banquet where elders and pastors gather to enjoy delightful meals and engage in lively conversation. However, I found the food selection to be somewhat lacking, particularly since I was craving vegetables. The meat options included baked chicken, fried fish, neck bones, and a few others. On a positive note, the yams were quite tasty. Overall, the food was decent but felt overpriced. For instance, a side of yams in a standard 3-compartment styrofoam takeout box costs $3.50! Additionally, the drink prices were steep, with tea costing over $3 for what looked like a 20-ounce serving. While the food was satisfactory, don't expect it to be heavily seasoned. The corn muffins were enjoyable but notably small in size. The restaurant was bustling, but I found the staff to be friendly, engaging, and patient. I would consider dining here again, although I believe they are closed on Mondays. If you're interested in trying some local soul food, Stein's is worth a visit.
