The River Crab restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences according to recent reviews. Iris is an outstanding place for special occasions food, service, ambiance are all top notch. Chef Kelly English is a Memphis treasure.

Iris was good, as it has always been. However, if you have been to the old Iris before the renovations, do not expect the same experience. The food is decent but not quite as upscale as it used to be. The layout of the restaurant is more open now, so you may feel like you are dining with other guests (not ideal for loud conversations). Everything I tried was good, but none of it was exceptional like the previous menu. Our server was excellent, the drinks were good, and there were no issues. Personally, I prefer the old Iris compared to the updated version. But if this is your first time at Iris, I am sure you will enjoy it.
