Comeback Coffee - Memphis
Comeback Coffee
Description
Tucked in downtown Memphis near the convention center and Bass Pro Pyramid, this coffeehouse pairs striking, old‑world–chic interiors and a cozy enclosed patio with high‑end beans, creative espresso drinks and standout biscuits for brunch. Service and pastry consistency can be uneven—slow lines, stale or unheated pastries and limited milk options—but friendly staff, free Wi‑Fi and comfortable seating make it a popular, stylish spot for locals, tourists and coffee aficionados looking for a relaxed morning or casual brunch destination.

Very Friendly and helpful staff, I only stopped by for water and a coffee, would like to come back and try other items on the menu.
Let’s get the best part out the way it was aesthetically pleasing and a gorgeous space. However when you sacrifice aesthetics over substance you won’t go very far. First off I ordered the Saigon iced latte, chocolate croissant, and kouign amann. I do have a background as a pastry chef, so imagine my disappointment when I was told that there was no way they can heat it up, but also all the pastries were stale. Also when I found out that their coffee soda was not on tap and in a can, it was three strikes. When I had the cinnamon and lemongrass iced latte, they didn’t yell for my name and I had to basically guess if it was my drink. To be honest although they confirmed it was mine, there was no lemongrass or cinnamon to be found.Frankly put I’m not coming back to the Comeback but honestly if you wanted to rent the space it would probably be the best because the coffee shop route isn’t working for them.
They are slow. Really slow. I noticed the reviews that came up when I was about to post mine, they look artificial intelligence made them. They were to glowingly good LOL. It's funny they have iced coffee but do not make their teas iced. There are three persons making my drink. One poured syrup in the cup. One steamed the shots. One poured the milk. I should have just used the restroom and left. It took 10 minutes. The ice coffee was okay. I like Duncan better. The cinnamon knot I believe is what it's called, it was hard as a rock probably old..
This is a not to miss coffeehouse in downtown Memphis. Just a block from the convention center and the Bass Pro Pyramid. Coffee, atmosphere and staff were all too notch. Free and fast Wi Fi with a lot of comfortable seating options both inside and out back.
They ask you to stay a while but I felt like they were trying to get me out the door as fast as possible. For a place with such a great selection of high-end beans, the lack of real, ceramic cups and plates was extremely disappointing (and distinctly opposed to their stay a while motto! , and the barista didn 't mention that they couldn 't heat my chocolate croissant until after I got it and found it room temperature. Oh boy, a big hard lump of cold chocolate in my bread, how appetizing!
