I visited CK's Coffee Shop on Union Avenue on Feb. 26, 2009 thinking I would get a $5. to $6. breakfast. Instead my breakfast totaled a whopping $12.25. I ordered a Paul Bunyan Breakfast at $4.85 and with Ala cart grits at $1.39 ask me how my total ended up at $12.25. CK's Coffee Shop is a local gem in the Memphis area with several locations. They offer an excellent variety of high-quality coffees that, in my humble opinion, surpass those of the local Starbucks.
I visited CK's Coffee Shop on Union Avenue on February 26, 2009, expecting to pay around $5 to $6 for breakfast. Instead, my bill came to a surprising $12.25. I ordered the Paul Bunyan Breakfast for $4.85 and added a side of grits for $1.39, so I'm puzzled about how my total reached $12.25. This place also charges a $2.25 fee for using the debit card machine and adds a 5% gratuity on takeout orders. I've tried to calculate the total multiple times, but I still can’t figure out how the cashier arrived at that amount.
