Cafe Eclectic - Memphis
Cafe Eclectic
Description
Nestled in the scenic Harbortown neighborhood, this restaurant offers a spacious dining experience but struggles significantly with service. Patrons report lengthy wait times for food, lukewarm meals, and a lack of responsiveness from staff, even on quieter days. While the café features a diverse menu, including brunch staples, many uphold that the quality does not meet expectations, with some dishes arriving incorrectly or poorly executed. Despite its charming setting, diners consistently voice disappointment, questioning the management's ability to maintain standards and recommend seeking alternatives for a more satisfying brunch experience.

Not crowded, yet service was poor. We were seated where a man had spilled a bottle of syrup. We had to ask for napkins to cover the sticky spot. Otherwise, they just seated us knowing the puddle was there. Then, a waitress informed us 3x she was not our server, but ended up helping as the other waitress couldn’t. There were maybe 5 tables there. No champagne (no problem went next door), no OJ (had to go back). We had to flag down someone to bring cups after they knew we went to buy a bottle and sat for a while as it warmed. You could have visited a 7-11 and prepared the lunch if a microwave was available.
Both cafe eclectic are one of the top restaurants in memphis! I prefer this because it is less crowded and the menu, quality of the service is still the same.”
I really enjoyed my meal! the bagel looked mostly homemade and was super fresh. delicious coffee and the kieseleis is a great note.
I highly recommend this charming restaurant in the picturesque Harbor Town area. The outdoor seating area is lovely and perfect for enjoying the nice weather and people-watching. The egg scrambles were delicious and generously portioned.
My partner and I visited Memphis last weekend and had made a reservation for breakfast at a restaurant through OpenTable. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we discovered that it was closed, and it seemed that we were not the only ones who had made reservations through OpenTable. We were disappointed that we couldn't enjoy the breakfast we had been looking forward to at this restaurant, Tugs. We hope that the management at Eclectic will improve their communication with third-party apps and systems to prevent this inconvenience for future customers. While we may never know if it is a great spot to eat, we were left feeling frustrated by this experience.
