Agave Maria - Memphis

Five stars for the service! Stopped in for a late night drink and some chips and salsa. Both were excellent (I got beer, wife got sangria), but the best part....got to talking to the server about hot food and hot sauce, and she gave me a bottle of their red hot sauce! It's now in my fridge and it goes on my food regularly. Good stuff.

Fun decor, friendly and knowledgeable waiter, fantastic margaritas, and delicious food. It's higher end so the portions aren't large considering the price, but the presentation and interesting flavor combinations make up for it. Tried the guacamole, which was good but not particularly noteworthy, the sliders (wonderful) and the scallops (perfect flavor and spiciness). The strawberry cake for dessert was also great, and a generous portion.

Well, I can't say what it used to be, but my wife and I ordered takeout from there and were surprised and pleased. The tacos especially were unusual, well seasoned, imaginative and tasty. I had the fish taco and the Korean as well as the tequila lime pie. All portions were smallish, but filling and well done. My wife's corn on the cob was new to us and tasty. Her enchilada was more average, but I don't like too much cheese. I often complain after eating Mexican that it all tastes the same to me, but this was different, reasonably priced and a welcome change. We will be back.

One of my favorite places downtown. The food is fantastic, authentic Mexican! Make sure to come by for their Happy Hour, which runs from 11-7. 2 for 1 margaritas are an amazing deal, and they have food specials, as well.

Food was fabulous and came quickly. We had our queso within 3 minutes of ordering. The selection of tequilas is huge and the cocktail menu is worth working through. Staff were attentive and quick.
