I... read more We were recommended Vesuvio 3 by a friend, but on entering I did not have high hopes. This is a large restaurant that looks like it caters for tourist crowds. It claimed to be Neapolitan, but, as my wife is from Naples, we were skeptical. Meeting a waitress, we were surprised to hear a Neapolitan accent. In fact, most of the staff are in fact Neapolitan. There is the usual fair on the menu, but you can get pizza al metro (pizza by the metre). We ordered some of the seafood pasta and a mixed pizza (only 50 cms). The pasta was very good, with fresh vongole at least, and the pizza is very close to a good Neapolitan pizza (very rare in Salento). Our son liked it so much that we were forced to go back two days later. The waitress remembered us, which was nice, and the food again was very good. The only bit that we were unimpressed with were the starters. They were not very good. Overall, a very friendly place with good food, but be careful of the starters. Really good pizza, if you like the Neapolitan style (which I do).

Otherwise the pizza is very delicious with generous ingredients, especially the cheese. The price is exactly right and the staff is professional and attentive. I wish I knew about this place from the first day of our stay! I will definitely return someday

The pizza is good and the place is pretty cozy and attractive. The only negative point was the service. Waiters were more occupied in talking with each other than serving. Anybody speaks english. It is a pity because the place was a great potential
