This restaurant has got to be the best kept secret in Meldola. Quiet, calm and wonderful service! And let’s not forget the food; it’s worth driving quite a while to enjoy and prepared to perfection. Enjoy

On the way from Venice to Cortona we stopped at this Michelin Guide reviewed restaurant. Service was fantastic though communication tested our Italian. Both pastas we tried were excellent and were served directly from the pan onto our dishes. 100% locals there and we patterned our orders after them. The seconds were equally pleasing. When we asked what wines they liked 7 bottles were brought to the table. Afterwards the older gentleman directed us to his favorite. It was great and at the mid range of the prices of the wine. After a dessert and a grappa we were off to our destination. Hopefully we stop here again. Part of the reasoning for this review was to catalog this restaurant's location so I can find it again.

Make sure you go hungry, because you are going to eat a lot and extremely well at Il Rustichello. We ordered the fixed menu which came with appetizer (local flat bread called piadina with cold cuts and local cheese), two first courses (tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and tortelli), steak and grilled vegetables, dessert (actually a sampler of 3), coffee and digestives. Also, make sure you are not in a hurry, because Italians like to eat their meals in the course of hours. You won't regret it. The restaurant is off a main road so it's not very easy to find unless you have a GPS, but there are signs along the way. It is housed in a very pretty house and decorated with traditional furniture of the area. The owners are extremely courteous and helpful. We had a wonderful time and paid a very modest amount for all that we ate, E.25!! If you order a la carte it might be more expensive, but for a Michelin star restaurant, it is a very good deal.

A decidedly positive experience. A well-maintained place, with a comfortable yet elegant atmosphere. We each had an appetizer and a first course, and everything was truly delicious. The pappardelle with wild boar tasted like home, with the coarseness and depth that befits a dish of this kind. The staff were excellent, efficient, and fast, attentive but not intrusive. Two of us came to eat and we'll definitely be back.

We ate homemade pasta with the option to choose the toppings, top!
