Was Anonym at Sonido a mag?
Visited this place for a tryout of south-american inspired breakfast. Tried pulled beef breakfast which was good. Separate mention for coffee and portuguese tart - both were amazing View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Sonido:
These Colombians have been in australia too long and now they have become just like australians with their mediocre customer service. They have lost the warm amicable Latin American style of customer treatment that exists in their country of origin. No greetings, no smiles, very cold, mechanical, robotic treatment from them and their employees. Somebody please tell the woman that seems to be the manager that a smile... View all feedback.

I tried the Pollo Arepas at this restaurant and it was delicious. The char grilled free range chicken was very tasty. The meal was gluten-free and I also enjoyed a Mojito and a large double cookie called an Alfajor.
Most of the menu items are gluten-free. I'm not certain about cross-contamination, but I had appetizers there twice with no problems. The food was delicious.
Sonido was actually already my favourite cafe before I found out I was celiac! Fantastic Colombian Arepas, very good coffee and a great, vibrant atmosphere. Pretty much everything on the menu is gluten free I think (except for a couple of small cakes/snacks . Any Melburnian should go here wether they’re gluten free or not :
I have been a regular at this restaurant for years and I absolutely love how delicious and accommodating it is for those with celiac disease. The majority of the menu is gluten-free, and anything that isn't is clearly marked. The restaurant takes precautions by using separate toasters and blenders for gluten-free items to avoid cross-contamination.
They had two non gluten free items, (cookies) and they weren't seperated from the gluten free items (they were touching in the cabinet), which made me feel like they didn't really understand cross contamination. This is such a shame because their menu is otherwise entirely gluten free.

Sonido is a very popular small café in Gertrude Street and it has atmosphere from its Columbian heritage and of course the Columbian food. It is small., quirky and interesting and worth a visit but it does get busy at weekends.
Brilliant coffee. Most places struggle with iced coffee. They do them brilliantly here. Superb flavour and not too much ice. We could get over the breakfast cookies here too. So we’ll composed with good yummy ingredients and not too sweet. They are an absolute steal for $2. Lovely spot to sit on the street here. It’s a top class cafe. We want to return to try the main menu.
Lovely Colombian place. We just had coffee and dessert. The hot Cho late is very good and the large size serving for 3 can actually serve 3 people. The Portuguese custard dessert (pasteis de nata) was very good.
Excellent for gluten free people. Healthy and sweet options all gf. Large portions, very tasty. Friendly service
This South American restaurant has a lovely range of dishes, good coffee and an excellent ambience. The majority of the meals are based around Arepas, and those together with the other major ingredients resulted in an excellent lunch. The staff were very helpful and unobtrusive. A very enjoyable lunch.

Best: Huevos Pericos Arepa (add a side of Morcilla black pudding for a real good time) Very cool deck out, enough Spanish household items from the 90s to
Sonido serves authentic Colombian breakfast You get freshly made arepas with your choice of scrambled eggs, chorizo or beans.
Very loud and busy at lunch time but good food and friendly service, some vego options and a hipster coffee with a tag to tell me about the bean origin and roasting details :) nice place will definitely go back again.
Dropped in to this place for lunch for four of us. Great little cafe, unassuming, but with fabulous south american food, delicious drinks, friendly and relaxed. Loved the chorizo arapa and the guava juice.
