We booked ahead and when we arrived the table wasn't quite ready so we took a seat at the bar. The venue is great; like an old warehouse with cavernous ceilings and a great sense of space. We were a table of four, and between us we ordered a four entrees and five mainsThe flavours of some of the dishes were good, the tuna entree for instance was delicious and hard to distinguish from the real thing. The salt cod fritters were good, as was the tortilla. The mains we ordered were all ok, but nothing amazing in my opinion. Each dish was pretty oily and heavy and couldn't be described as fresh tasting! One dish we really weren't fond of was the Seafood Stew. Whilst some of the flavours did mimic actual seafood it was too overpowering and just too fishy!I guess my biggest gripe about the restaurant is that they just put too much emphasis on trying to copy the tastes and textures of actual fish, meat and dairy based dishes. I appreciate the creativity used to re-create a fish stew for example, but really with so many wonderful vegetables and plant products available I think they should really focus on creating dishes to be themselves instead of average imitations.I didn't mind the restaurant overall but I wouldn't rush back!

I lived around the corner for more than a month in early 2017. At first, I did not realize that this is a vegan tapas place because I thought it is just another trendy bar (as there are many on this stretch of Brunswick Street). It is always quite popular and generally crowded inside. At weekends, there are even lines waiting to get in.When I finally had a chance to dine there, I found their food is disappointing and pricy - they are just not as good as the hype. I ordered a small of tortilla españolal (Spanish omelet) and a beef empanada. Since everything here supposed to be vegan, the tortilla is not made of eggs, and inside the empanada is substitute beef. However, I found neither is tasty. The empanada is microwave-omened and too salty inside (and soggy outside). While the tortilla came with nice "vegan" mayonnaise, the "egg" tasted synthetic and not very natural (I'm not sure what it is made of). However, the tropical cocktail did taste good. With only the above items, it still cost more than 25AU$, which is quite pricy. For vegetarians, or even vegans, you can find some good food in other non-vegetarian restaurants nearby since all restaurants here serve vegetarian, even vegan items ("Naked for Satan" down the Brunswick Street comes to mind). It is not really worth it just to come here for vegetarian food. However, they do have long drink menu and cocktail is indeed good.
