Was Anonym at Penta a mag?
My family and I called in on Mother's Day without a booking and we're pleasantly surprised that we were able to get a table for 5 within minutes (albeit outside). My kids were wrapped there was a park across the road. We had a beautiful brunch. The potato rosti were a big favorite with my husband & kids. The Nutella panna cotta was YUM but rich so we shared, the banana sushi was brilliant. The granola bowl was the be... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Penta:
Penta is a beautiful little Elsternwick cafe with an interior that screams classy and refined, yet also encourages relaxation. Upon ordering their very famous nutella panacotta, I'd have to say I was a little disappointed with the portion size for the price paid. While it was something nice to eat, the flavours were not extraordinary enough to justify the price (the banana sushi was a little odd). However, the braise... View all feedback.

The coffee at Penta in Elsternwick is exceptional! Despite the drive from Port Melbourne, it is definitely worth it. The Salmon, Zucchini and Avocado dish is perfect for my Ketogenic diet. Even though I don't usually prefer fish, this dish is amazing and I find myself coming back for it again and again.
I can't say enough good things about the amazing food at Penta. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. My absolute favorite dish is the breakfast bowl. The staff at Penta are always so welcoming and the coffee is outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant is incredible! You have to see it to believe it - the atmosphere is fantastic and the food is without a doubt the best brunch spot in Melbourne. We will definitely be returning here again!

Loved the place, ambience and roasted chicken waffle. Very good and friendly staff. Do not hesitate to go back and recommend.
I can only say what a disappointing brunch we had on Mother's Day. We ordered 2 Chilli scrambled eggs, which were like a dog breakfast. The eggs were like a chopped omelette and had bacon and tomatoes mixed and the tomatoes made the toast soggy. The eggs Benedict eggs had not cooked heaps of protein yellow. Very expensive for what we received and the presentation leaves much to be desired.
Quality of the food was average and uninteresting. Definitely would not recommend the Feta, Beetroot Rocket salad. Full of rocket greens but not much else. Left the restaurant hungry due to lack of substance in this salad. Found it to be low quality and...low creativity. Would not go back!
The cafe is nicely located with a good ambiance. The menu items appear varied and interesting. However what sticks out in this period of lockdowns and government requirements for masks is the apparent persistent disregard for mark wearing, with the cook, servers and people at...the cash registeres either not wearing masks, or wearing them down around their chins. Is it any wonder that there are so few patrons, when the cafe not 20 feet away is bustling with activity? There's a message here to teh management at Penta no one wants to get sick because you or your staff are failing, refusing or neglecting to comply with basic hygiene requirements.
We had a combination of hearty and sweet, everything was well cooked and well presented. Hugely served....too huge! But very good quality, and friendly service.
