Tasty fruit loaf and great coffee for morning tea and at a reasonable price. Nice sitting outside in a raised outdoor area overlooking Collins Street. Friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended.
I have breakfast at this restaurant at least once a week and usually order the eggs benedict and a large flat white. I am always pleased with both dishes, as they are consistently great. The smashed avocado is also delicious. The coffee this morning was absolutely amazing- one of the best cups I have had in a long time.
We had the Broccoli Soup. In one word Superb At $9.50 it was excellent value, fresh and tasty. Served with sourdough bread in a large dish it was comfort food on a unusually dull grey Melbourne day. The service was prompt and there was no shortage of help. Highly recommended.
We entered Mughouse because it was convenient to our meeting in the CBD and was roomy and clean. It looked okay but nothing special. So the food was a delightful surprise. Flavourful soups made onsite, real bread, good coffee and yummy, on wholesome sweets. On my first visit, the soup of the day was a light and tasty miso and veg, and the second, spicy lentil. Both times the meal was quick, cheap and friendly. This now my 'regular ' CBD lunch spot.
I think they need to sort out their cook/chef about the basics. We ordered 2 main dishes, one smashed avocado with eggs and the other a burger. They came out together and obviously had cooked them both at the same time as the burger was great but the eggs were cold. It ruined the whole thing. We were in between appointments and had waited for some time for what we ordered so did not complain at the time as we didn't want to wait again, this was a mistake.
