Was Jenn Crook at Mitte a mag?
Situated away from the busy street and hidden in a beautiful residential area, this Cafe tops one of my go-to inner north neighborhood gems! br/ br/ Food was licking good! Had the sweet potato fritters and some of the tofu scrambled from my friend and was very thoroughly impressed. Loved the spicy salsa that came with the tofu! br/ br/ What can be improved on is definitely the service. Slow to the point where they... View all feedback.
What HobartTourist dislikes about Mitte:
The cafe proprietors looked as if they had just got out of bed at 2pm. The coffee was average and the atmosphere like a henhouse...did not try the food but would have to be desperate to go back. View all feedback.

What a lovely inner urban cafe. A tight but lovely space inside. Some nice outdoor seating too. The coffee is gorgeous here. It’s a seriously fine Melbourne brew. The bircher muesli was utterly delicious and so good to look at it almost qualifies as a work of art. Service was quick, efficient and polite too. Cafes like Mitte are our city at its finest
With Covid lockdown, service is by window. You order at one and collect at the other. My toasted sandwich was large and made with fresh ingredients.
Set in a residential area, this place is worth seeking out. Simple menu, but quality food offerings in a relaxed setting. Outdoor seating also.
The last cafe I visited before we went into lockdown. It was a pleasant experience, and had a good range on the menu. The meatballs were delicious, and they did a pretty decent pot of tea as well. The staff were pretty good, and its location in the back streets make it a charming place to visit.
If it wasn’t for a steady procession of cars along Michael St you could almost think you’re in a country village Great little setting in an old corner milk bar with a rustic internal feel and making the most of the wide corner pavement with thin wire steel settings Staff were incredibly friendly , our dog and others welcomed and watered , the menu sufficiently diverse and interesting and when arrived more than adequately represented the description A special ham, cheese , mustard sourdough sandwich , a smashed avocado , pea n mint open sandwich and a great coffee made a very tasty and more than filling late Sunday breakfast
In the heart of North Fitzroy, Mitte Cafe offers a charming and cozy atmosphere perfect for a relaxing brunch experience. While some reviewers mentioned the somewhat lackluster service and average coffee, others praised the delicious food offerings, particularly the poached eggs and bacon. With a menu boasting a good variety and daily specials, this hidden gem is a favorite among locals. The cafe's unique decor, friendly staff, and impressive caffeine-free chai make it a must-visit spot for those looking to enjoy a delightful meal in Melbourne's hipster land.

A great find in a nice quiet residential street. Lots of outdoor tables for when the weather is good and a great range of reasonable priced selections (including a range of items for the kids . The coffee was great, the pikelets were fluffy and yummy (had to eat some of my kids... and who could go past a croque monsieur? A definitely place to come back to.
Such a great local cafe, with intention care they really share a homely feel. The service has been wonderful, friendly and attentive. Food was generous in it's serving but delicious and reasonably priced. With a changing muffin (delicious)and vegetarian/ vegan options, it's worth checking out.

Still wouldn’t stop me from returning.<br/ <br/ They have both outdoor and indoor seating. However do note the space is small :
Delicious, comfortable and off the main drag. Great service, coffee and the giant beans are just the best. I love this tiny little place on a rainy day or just sitting outside watching the world go by. Yum.

Just a fly by here yesterday because the wind killed our leisurely sunny sit-outside-with-a-dog-cafe weather.
Tasty fresh food, big servings so don't plan a big dinner. The coffee is very smooth and creamy. Small cafe, which gets very full on weekends.
I've ventured to Mitte for some breakfast the past two Monday mornings in between PT clients and I have to say, I am a bit disappointed.
Mitte is on the corner in suburban North Fitzroy, in a former corner store ( Victorian era - circa 1880) sevixe is efficient, it can get busy. It's on it own and about 350 meters away from the main strip. The cofffee is excellent! ( 9.5/10) Food is high quality ( 8/10) cakes are premium (not made on the premises so 5/10)Worth a trip, sit outside on the tables and enjoy the sunshine in the heart of hipster land

Always a great experience at Mitte! George and the team are super welcoming, the coffee is consistently excellent, and the brekkie wrap is one of the tastiest around. Also highly recommend the homemade brownies and Cookies—they’re a must-try. Easily one of my go-to spots. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I have been coming here on and off for years and tbh have always found it to be on the slower side when it comes to service, which is fine as I’m not usually in a hurry. Today was next level .. we waited 30min for 3 takeaway coffees and a toastie.. when we checked in to see where it was we were advised that someone called and placed an order for 15 coffees just before us. However people who ordered after us were receiving their coffees.. as I watched them walk in. We ended up having to cancel our order.. 2 things would have helped here… advise us of the long wait or come and apologize .. instead of justifying why and taking care of your regulars.., simple customer service. We will unfortunately never return.
It might be cold and dark in Melbourne but not in Mitte if Helen is working. Amazing food (had the zucchini fritters, oat cap and hot choc) and spectacular service. I will be recommending to everyone. Thank you specifically to Helen for brightening my weekend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
