What Zackery Gutmann doesn't like about Jimmy Watson's Wine Bar:
What a pity. My parents often visited JW's after WW2 when they arrived in Melbourne, and loved it. A group of us visited each month in 2017/18 and found the service very rude. We decided to persevere as the food, ambiance and wine list was...great. We took a break in 2019 (and obviously 2020) to compare with other places in Carlton. We went back just recently and the rudeness of the waiter (same one) was the worst ev... View all feedback. What Kallie McDermott likes about Jimmy Watson's Wine Bar:
Jimmy Watson's is named after the man who created a wine culture in Australia. He also helped create a culture of wining and dining. The food is very good, it is a European cuisine. Although Jimmy Watson is long dead, the food and wine culture...he promoted continues to this day.. View all feedback.

read moreJimmy Watson's is a restaurant and wine bar steeped in history and run by the Watson family, known for their European cuisine. The service is simple, yet efficient, with a no-fuss attitude. The menu offers delicious dishes such as Minastroni soup and Porterhouse steak. The wine list is fantastic and well-curated, making it a must-visit spot in Melbourne. While some reviews mentioned average service, the food received high praise, with dishes like Seafood Linguine and Tortellini being particularly noteworthy. Overall, Jimmy Watson's is an iconic establishment that continues to provide a great dining experience with a rich history and fantastic food offerings.
