Secret bars are my favourite place to hang out in Melbourne. This place is fab as you ring the secret door bell and walk into a very posh bar.<br/ <br/ We enjoyed a round of lemon gin cocktail (but I can't remember the name as I can't find an updated menu) after dinner.<br/ <br/ Lovely ambience and very relaxing atmosphere.
I stopped in here after dinner. Actually it took some searching out. It is quite hidden. There is no sign. There is just a door on the south side of the street on Flinders Lane with a call button. If you round the corner on to Spring Street, you'll see a bottle shop. Hihou is right above the bottle shop (I can't remember the name).<br/ <br/ Once you get in, the atmosphere is fantastic. Very subdued and calming. The windows also give you a great view over the Treasury Gardens.<br/ <br/ The food is supposed to be very good but I only had a cocktail. I had the EDO Murasaki (Japanese whiskey, Campari, Averna, yuzu, lychee syrup and shiso). It was a fantastic cocktail. Spirit forward (which I wanted) and quite balanced. It was also served over a beautiful hand carved ice cube. <br/ <br/ I look forward to going back!
