Reviews summary
El CoCo is a popular spot with a bustling atmosphere, offering a variety of entertainment options from live music to table tennis. While many enjoy the $6 pizzas, some have noticed a decline in the quality of the food since a possible change in chefs. Despite this, the venue's quirky decor and friendly staff continue to draw in customers for drinks and socializing. With a unique setting and a range of activities, El CoCo remains a favorite spot in the CBD for those looking for a casual and fun night out.
Was Michale Heathcote at El Coco a mag?
Stopped by randomly for a few celebration drinks and were pleasantly surprised. Only a few guests when we arrived at 3 in the afternoon but the place was pumping by 5. A large space with tables and chairs, sofas, play station, table tennis - I guess there is something for everyone. Had a selection of snacks - loved the eggplant sticks and popcorn chicken. Live music started just as we left and the place was getting r... View all feedback.
What Susie Durgan dislikes about El Coco:
El Coco has a pleasant atmosphere and is lively with patrons, but a cosmopolitan should feature cranberry juice instead of raspberry juice! It was far too sweet for my liking. I suspect the bartender was new and lacked experience in preparing cocktails. The menu has potential, but the drink preparation needs improvement. View all feedback.

Normally, I can't stop talking about how amazing the food is at El CoCo. We work nearby and eat here weekly, but it seems like there may have been a change in chef this year because the food just isn't as good as it used to be. I used to love the lamb and potato pizza, but lately the herbs on the potatoes leave a strange taste in your mouth. The pizza bases are thinner and hard to cut. The pizzas are only $6 and are a good size, but I don't understand why they now charge an extra $5 for gluten-free when most places charge just $1 or $2 (for reference, I'm not gluten-free). The atmosphere is great, very relaxed and casual, and the staff are incredibly nice. It can get busy and loud on Fridays after work. I just hope the food goes back to its delicious quality from last year.
Beautiful, young and friendly atmosphere but don't eat there. Even the basic burger is mediocre. What a shame.
Nice location in cbd. We've been for a couple of beers! Friendly staff and cheap drinks and food! They can offer also games like ping pong, jenga and others! Unfortunately the fornitures are old and not always in good conditions!
Waiter was really friendly and helpful we only stayed for a snack and drinks but was really nice there and wanted to stay longer would go back for sure
We attended a 40th birthday celebration here with about 70 other people. The venue has a wonderful eclectic decor. Heaps of very lived in couches and rustic seating around wine barrels. As an added bonus, there were video game consoles, a pool table & table tennis! Oh, and plenty of room for dancing! The bar staff were friendly & helpful, bringing out wonderfully flavourful canapés. If I spent more time in the city, I would definitely come here to catch up with friends over a drink.
