Billies - Melbourne Beach

A few days ago, we stopped by during our annual visit from the Chicagoland area, and we were disappointed to find Billie’s closed. We hope everything is okay on your side! We’ve always enjoyed our meals here, whether it was the burger with fries or the breakfast sandwich. The cheesecake ice cream bar was incredible! Again, we hope all is well with you. It seems that Brevard County owns the land in question and is responsible for determining who can use this location. Billies is no longer in operation because the county neglected routine maintenance to save costs, even though the owners were paying monthly rent without any of that money being invested back into the facility. Eventually, the health department shut down Billies due to inadequate water drainage and unsanitary conditions inside the building. Now, Brevard is finally taking steps to fix the building, something they should have done earlier. Once repairs are completed, it looks like they will go back to neglecting their responsibilities as they decide who gets to set up shop next. It’s no secret that the selection process often favors those who are most skilled at currying favor with local officials.

The ideal spot for a beachside cabana, but unfortunately, it was closed.

They are closed for renovations still, they have been closed about 6 months .Thought by season they would be reopened
