Basil - MEDFIELD

Always a great meal, and service is consistently great as well. Chef is flexible with options, sauces, etc. Dining rooms are small and when busy, can be quite loud. But that's only a minor issue. Highly recommend.

I arrived about 20 minutes early for my reservation Thursday 7/11/24. I went into the bar to get a glass of wine. I was standing near the bar for about 10 minutes as all the seats at bar were taken. The bartender never waited on me because she never looked up from what she was doing. To be fair she was busy, but she made no attempt at eye contact at all. I finally walked away (without a drink) and sat out near the host stand until my dinner companion arrived. Disappointing....

From service to food, everything was fabulous. we shared the house salad which was perfectly dressed with a delicious dressing. For entrees I had the chicken piccata and my husband had the haddock. Both dishes very flavorful and the pasta and vegetables were not over cooked. Highly reccomend.

Energetic is a tactful way to describe a noise level that is somewhat distracting. This seems to be a problem for many good restaurants these days; the decor does not provide much, if anything, to absorb the sound. Otherwise, our drinks and dinners were great.

Food was good, but we had to wait 30 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation and then we were placed upstairs which isn't very nice and we sat at a table that was probably from Costco. That experience really turned off the rest of the party.
