Was TaylorC at Eclair Bistro a mag?
This was my second visit to Eclair. The first time I dined there, I would have rated everything 5 stars. However, on this visit when I brought my parents along, our service was below par compared to a typical restaurant. We had to repeatedly ask our server for water refills, one of the dishes was incorrect for a member in our group who had a food allergy, the coffee we ordered with our desserts arrived first and was... What Benjamin Paucek dislikes about Eclair Bistro:
Didn’t love the new menu, not serving my favorite wine anymore (Gundlach Bundshu), they were out of crab cakes and not dong do any substitutions on the menu. Used to be one of our favorite restaurants. View all feedback.

However, on this visit when I brought my parents along, our service was below par compared to a typical restaurant. We had to repeatedly ask our server for water refills, one of the dishes was incorrect for a member in our group who had a food allergy, the coffee we ordered with our desserts arrived first and was lukewarm, and one of the desserts was forgotten altogether. Additionally, our server did not offer any apologies for the mistakes. Despite this experience, I will still return as a customer personally, but I will definitely choose a different dining establishment when my parents visit next time.
This was at least the third time we 've been here and it will without a doubt be the last. Things started horribly when the host informed us (before asking if we had a reservation) that there was no estimate as to when we could be seated. I informed her we had a reservation to which she stated: I can 't kick these people out . Hmm, file that under not my problem. She then said the only option was to go upstairs and eat in the bar. Yeah! My awesome Valentines Day dinner would be eating in the bar! As I now was out of options we went upstairs to the dumpy horrible bar. To keep it short the service was horrible. We waited forever to receive our beverages and our appetiozers which to be fair were awesome! That 's as good as it got as everything else was disgusting. The soup came out however we still had no utensils so we again waited forever. By the time we received them the soup which tasted like cheap canned soup was cold and nasty. Before I could take a second taste the rest of the food came out, great time. The steak and sides were so underseasoned it was like hospital food. I would have added salt, however, the stealthy wait person was nowhere to be found as usual. The meat was trash, properly cooked but a pile of flavorless stringy meat. The sides were also void or proper seasoning and totally forgettable. To top it off they ran out of the only dessert we wanted so we didn 't even get that. In the end, we spent well over $200 for a horrible meal with horrible service in a horrible environment. What was supposed to be a special evening with the wife was anything but.
Deliciously different... Maine lobster and sea scallops with pasta and curried roasted cauliflower, all complemented by Sazerac martinis. Then upstairs for live jazz and Old Fashioneds. Not bad for a steamy Friday night!
