Don't shy away from this place because of the shady neighborhood. This is my new absolute favorite Italian restaurant. Authentic, made from scratch hearty Italian dishes, served up right! No cork fees either. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chicken Parmesan, Gnocchi View all feedback.

What JCO dislikes about 1905 Eatery:
Salad, bread and veal parm were good. I Ordered carbonara with peas bacon. I was told they did not have peas ordered any way, since most carbonara does not have peas. Was very disappointed when it was thin sliced deli ham, not bacon or pancetta. I also question the table/ bread oil looked more like corn oil than olive oil. The food and service were excellent at this restaurant! The portion sizes were generous. The ambience had a bistro feel, but it could get a bit loud when it's busy.

I can't believe I didn't know about this place before! It offers authentic Pittsburgh Italian cuisine at its best. The atmosphere may seem unassuming at first, but it quickly grows on you. The menu is fantastic and the food is of outstanding quality with amazing taste. We started with the stuffed peppers and green beans, which were a hit with everyone at the table. The freshly made linguine with flavorful sauces reminded me of my Italian mother's cooking. The BYOB policy with no corkage fee was a bonus. And the standout of the meal was the delicious lemon cake. The service was efficient and a visit from the owner made the night truly special. It was definitely worth the trip to this hidden gem.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. I have been to many Italian restaurants, but none have had food as good as this place. The portion sizes were generous, and I chose the Gnocci, which came with the option of a salad or soup. I opted for the salad, which had a delicious homemade dressing. The Gnocci itself was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. Service: Dine in.

My husband and I went there with three friends, after half an hour we got water and menus, and that was it. There was only one other table seated when we got there and a couple of two had come in after us. The couple of two ended up with soup, bread, and drinks while we were still waiting for our order to be taken... Service: Dine in Meal type: Other

Delicious food, made from scratch. Huge portions always have leftovers for the next day. Reminiscent of the Italian restaurant in the movie Moonstruck. we even tried the tripe once! Our favorites are the steak salad, the seafood, bisque, and chicken piccata! This is not the Olive Garden folks. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
