My family chose Fireside Inn McGregor for my dad's Celebration of Life get-together on a Friday night. We reserved the room in the back which seats about 25 people very comfortably). We did buffet style; ribs, chicken, potato salad, macaroni and cheese ! fabulous) and bread. They knocked it out of the park with the attentive service Amy is amazing) and the food was so plentiful and delicious. THANK YOU to the staff at Fireside!
When we walked in we were the only ones in there.. waitress took our drink order and walked to the back other people walked in she promptly went and took there drink order and walked to the back to get there drinks. We waited almost 15 minutes before she came to get our order. When my wife ordered she asked for an extra plate as we were going to split the order and she she said there was a charge for splitting. My wife just ordered the water and we shared our lunch on one plate. It took so long we almost got up and walked out. All I can say the food was ok.
My husband ordered a steak. It was seasoned well, and was done exactly as ordered. However, did not seem to be a good quality piece of meat. Was chewy with many inedible gristly pieces. I ordered the pan fried walleye. Also cooked perfectly, but the flavor was off, fishy taste. The rice pilaf was just plain boiled rice medley without spices or flavor. Flat and bland.
The Ribeye and shrimp ? is amazing. We also had chicken wings they are the best in town.
I use to frequent t-bones quite a bit and the service was great but you're a sit-down business now, and you need to pay attention to the tables we sat there for 45 minutes and the only time we saw the waitress was when she brought us our drinks. Someone could have come by our table and said can we comp you a drink or something and apologize for our order taking so long instead of making up excuses why our food was taking so long
