What Anonym dislikes about Thirsty Monkey:
Not my favorite place, went from alternative music to Tejano unexpectedly which is cool cuz then it went to country. Main complaint is that I slipped and fell on water from the bar- the guys response was “well it’s a bar” I was DD and didn’t have one drink. View all feedback.

I absolutely love this place! The bartender with the beard, I believe his name is Hector, is incredibly attractive. He’s not only fast but also really friendly. You get your drinks in no time at all. I’m a big fan of him! This is definitely a spot you shouldn’t miss in the city center!
If you're not familiar with McAllen Downtown, here's a quick tip: Thirty and Suerte (the bar next door) are connected, so you can order food from Thirty while enjoying your time at Suerte. Thirty is also sponsored by Jägermeister, which is why their hunter bombs are only $2. The outdoor terrace is pleasant and refreshing. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick shot before continuing your bar hopping adventure.
This place always has the best hip-hop and rap music vibe. The only downside is that it's always too cold to enjoy a drink inside! My girlfriend and I always end up having to sit on the outdoor terrace because we can't stand the chill. I do appreciate that they often pay tribute to artists from various genres, which adds a nice touch.
For those who are not familiar with McAllen Downtown. Thirsty and Suerte (The Bar next to it) are connected which is why you get food there. Thirsty is also sponsored by Jägermeister which is why the jägerbombs are 2 bucks. The patio outside is nice and chill. In all it's a place to get a quick shot and continue bar hopping
