Brewsome Brewery - McAllen
Brewsome Brewery
Description
A lively brewery-restaurant in McAllen, this outdoor-focused spot pairs house-brewed beers and inventive drinks with a Tex‑Mex/burger/pizza fusion menu. Patio firepits, karaoke and a pet‑friendly atmosphere make it popular for friends, families and travelers; portions can feel small and food quality is uneven, while service fluctuates and the menu is primarily QR-based. Great for beer tastings and casual nights out, but temper expectations for attentive service and consistent dishes.

While the food and beer remain good and the prices are reasonable, the overall experience is noticeably diminished by the staff's attitude. I’m not sure we’ll be returning anytime soon.
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The beer was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I really enjoyed the karaoke and the patio area! As a traveler, I felt very welcomed here, so much so that I visited twice during my stay!
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly staff. They offer two types of beer, both of which I enjoyed. I ordered the lemon pepper boneless wings, which were tasty and came with a side of fries. I noticed some reviews mentioning that the staff chat a lot, which is true. While I didn't mind the conversation while we were seated indoors due to the heat, others might find it distracting. Overall, I appreciated the ambiance, decor, and food. As for the beer, I'm not an expert, but I liked what I sampled.
You want eggs without salt, ice tea with no ice, salmon tostada that tastes like its been prechewed then vomited out then come here. Even the wait staff doesn't want to be here, the one with the pink hair acted like a teenager who didn't want to hang out with her parents *she rolls eyes*. Why are you a waitress if you don't want to answer questions about your menu or talk to people? So so unwelcoming, felt like an A&F store in the 90s, huge attitude. My only guess is it is a family run place that is forcing their snotty kids to wait tables and drunk uncle to make the horrible food. The beer is good.
I ended up trying several delightful drinks crafted on-site, along with some Mexican corn and a custom pizza topped with pineapple. To my surprise, I found myself enjoying dinner with a special furry friend—a cat named Sunday, if I remember correctly. Apparently, Sunday is a fan of pineapple as well! I jokingly told my wife about my "dinner date." Sunday truly brightened my Friday night. Overall, it was good food, great drinks, a wonderful atmosphere, and excellent company.
