Good food. Friendly service. We looked at several menus and selected this restaurant. There was a long wait for the food but the chips and salsa were very good. We had chicken fajitas and fish fingers, both delicious. View all feedback.
What Derrick Rau doesn't like about Beach Burger:
Service was okay if your good with a half hour wait for a burger. The food was just okay with one person in our group refusing to eat the chicken that was in her sandwich. Drinks were ice cold. View all feedback.
The food was almost average... the service deplorable ... the left over salsa and chips are moved from table to table as guests leave and others arrive. The waiter was always distracted even when taking our order, he was more interested in getting people into the restaurant. No eye contact or interaction with existing guests. He had dirty nails too ... Oh and this place also adds on the tip in the total bill. Watch for s/I on any bill so you aren't double tipping.
Once they get in you in the door, they forget about you. Service was slow and food was mediocre. It wasn't a busy evening, but waiter was more concerned about bringing people into the restaurant, than taking care of the ones that were already there. Washrooms had no soap or toilet paper. Will not go back!
What a great family run restaurant in a great location - Plazuela Machado. The four of us had a wonderful lunch. From the burgers to burritos to roast beef - everything was excellent and at a reasonable price. We will go back again -- the family that own it are very friendly.
After picking up tickets at the nearby Angela Peralta Theatre we were looking for a place for lunch. There are numerous restaurants around the Machado, and Beach Burger is one of them. We were not looking for a burger, but one of the patrons who had been there before said the burgers were fantastic. Consequently, we ordered burgers. We got our food quite quickly, but the people who recommended the burgers had a very long wait. The waiter had asked us how well done we wanted our burgers. We ordered medium, but they came very rare. We wished that we would have ordered well done. Nevertheless, we ate our burgers and survived with no ill effects. In fact they were very tasty and were quite a substantial burger. Any of the restaurants with outdoor seating around the Machado are a pleasant place to have lunch.
My husband and I love Beach Burger! We have visited RELIGIOUSLY for more than 6 years now. A late lunch is our favorite time to eat at this joint, situated within the Las Olas Altas neighborhood's Plazuela Machado.I know, I know. . . You're probably thinking why eat a Cheeseburger as your first meal in MEXICO?! I've got a good answer for you; I promise! Without fail, you will find that your first Margarita, a few chips and BB's always-impressive, handmade salsa = Your First Deep Breath in as you realize, "I'm here. I'm finally relaxing in MEXICO... Ahhhh."A tried-and-true, tranquil place to people watch and settle in to your vacation, BB has this unique way of helping to melt away stress almost instantly. Many of the waiters have been there for years, and will remember you if you visit often. Service is intuitive, informal, inviting and accommodating. A little hot? No problema; they will bring a box fan to you. Missing a favorite soccer game (called football in Mexico)? No problema; they'll string together 3 extension cords to bring a small CRT TV so you can watch. Want a specific Tequila? No problema; they'll go find a bottle on-the-spot, and make your Margarita just the way you like it! Pico de gallo with your burger, more guacamole made-to-order? No problema! They take pride in showing off their generosity and hospitality. You won't feel like a tourist here. You'll feel like you're eating with friends. As a Texan, both Cheeseburgers and Mexican cuisine is readily available to me all the time, but MEXICAN BEEF IS DIFFERENT. It is juicier, more flavorful - ANYTHING BUT your average burger in the U.S. Make sure to ask for extra "papas fritas" (French fries) when you order. Mexican culture doesn't think of French fries in the way we Americans do, "Super Sized." But, the kind family at Beach Burger will gladly oblige and add more to your order, usually without charge.Simply put: Beach Burger is a no fuss joint. Plop down in a chair under an umbrella, and allow your soul to settle into your vacation. After your tummy is full, you'll find that planning the rest of your time in Mexico is much more enjoyable. This is the place to start shedding your stressful thoughts.
