The side dishes were very small in portion size. The food did not seem authentic Korean. However, the ajumma (middle-aged woman) serving us was friendly and polite.
My husband and I love coming to this restaurant for the delicious food made by the wonderful owner, Chong. She manages the entire restaurant so be prepared to be patient on busy nights. I'm not sure what other reviewers have experienced in the past, but I have never been disappointed by any dish here! I recently tried the ginger chicken and the meat was incredibly tender. I paired it with the orange citrus tea, which tasted like candy. If it's not too busy, Chong may even sit and chat with you. Eating at this restaurant feels like a friend inviting you over to their grandmother's house for a meal.
I completely agree with the other reviews that the food at this restaurant is very bland, the owner is impolite, and it is not a authentic Korean restaurant. The ingredients used are cheap and not fresh. The kimchi is terrible, the soup broths are like plain water with spice powder added, and the beef is bland, chewy, and overcooked. The owner always has a negative attitude.
There are a lot of reviews on here that say the food tasted like it was artificial, but that wasn’t my experience at all. The Korean food tasted delicious and had a unique yet delicious taste. I was very pleased with the food and it came out fast. I honestly am disheartened seeing these negative reviews as I hope they don’t dissuade people from trying this restaurant. It’s hard to come across Korean food that tastes authentic in this area, and I was very happy to find a place to enjoy food from my heritage.
If you like eating long-ago food reheated in the microwave, then this is the place to go. I poisoned myself with Ramen that was like a soup that you can make at home that had been in the fridge for a very long time. Just look at the picture how terrible it looks, I regret I was eating that. I was even more astonished when I saw in my banking account that I had been cheated out of a $20! tip that I never left! There was no other diners besides me, I can imagine this Korean woman squeezing the last one out with such disgusting food quality.
