Itoya - Matsumoto

Very pathetic. Food is very good. If you do not speak Japanese, you will be handed over a bunch of cards with available dishes like in kindergarten. The Oden is very nice. I recommend Natto. For the uninitiated, this is fermented soybeans. Nato is fed with seaweed and sesame that adds the taste. The owner is very friendly and speaks very good English.

Large small authentic part of Matsumoto. We were very welcomed by the host, the English was very good that helped with the choice of food....and Sake. The food was very delicious, and the tasting of Sake, with recommendations from the host, as well. Would you highly recommend paying this place a visit if you are looking for something more traditional.

I wish there were more places like these, local sources. Many vegetarian options. Nice staff. Authentic.

Small hidden place. Great to sample local sake and enjoy small bites. Very hospitable, English friendly and will teach you some Japanese. Cover charge is ¥500.

I recommend eating here! The owner is so nice and they have a lot of local cuisine that’s hard to find elsewhere. As well as homemade drinks! They also have English menu’s if that’s something you need. The food I had was delicious!
