Solar Do Gordo - Matosinhos

I was here in May and I really liked. Expensive but the food was good and the staff was very friendly and attentive. So, I wanted to repeat the experience and went there again. The main entrance was closed and we have to enter through the terrace that wasn’t functioning and with an abandoned look. First thing to notice, we were attended by a Spanish speaker employee that have some difficulty to understand the order. The order took too much time to be served. The sardines: the sardines were terrible most of them were not in good condition and taste. The octopus: doesn’t look like octopus but tentacles of a cheaper product and was not well cooked. After this disappointment I had to complaint and they said they will offer the dessert but when we asked for the check the desserts were included and we just paid and left with the certainty that we never will return here. Absolutely no respect and professionalism l.

Food was tasty, desert was yummy and the sangria was excellent! Staff were very friendly and accommodating as to a few changes we wanted in the menu.

Great surprise. The food was just amazing. We 've ordered the fish and seafood rice and a sea bream with sprouts and morcela rice and I must say that I couldn 't stop eating it! It was so good!! For dessert I 've asked the caramel fondant and it was also very good. I truly recommend this restaurant and I 'll definitely come back to try different plates. It has a slightly high price but a very high quality.
