Meia-nau Matosinhos

Love to food and love the service!!! Yummy!!! The octopus fish and oysters were super fresh!!

Best seafood we've had In Portugal! Arrived at noon right when they opened. Within 15 minutes it was packed. Service was very good, everyone polite and professional. Seafood soup was AMAZING as was the fried squid appetizer! We ordered a white wine called Quinta do Portal Colheita which was dry, not too sweet, and delicious! We ordered the Dourada fish for our main course and it was all excellent!! For 4 glasses of wine, soup, appetizer and fish for two it was $59 euro. Well worth it. Take an Uber from Porto and try this place!!

This is one of about 6 similar restaurants on this street down near the beach. They all specialize in the preparation and serving of all types of Atlantic fishes. So out of all of them why did we choose Meia Nau? We 'll we had been walking around the area earlier in the day and this restaurant didn 't look as showy as some of the others. A little smaller and on a corner. We looked it up on Yelp, but yr reading the first review! TripAdvisor had quite a few excellent reviews. We did call for a reservation as it was Saturday night. We wanted a seating at 8 pm still early for Europe) but they were full booked except for 2 tables on their patio. Which happens to be in what is essentially a glass sided container with the huge grill set up on the outside. It was very comfortable if not a bit austere, so book early. We can 't fault anything we had to eat. The Ensalata pulvo was the best I 've tasted anywhere and the Arroz Marisco not a paella) was very tasty the crab could have been a bit bigger) our server Pablo the manager I think) talked us down in price for a Vinho Verde we hadn 't tried before. For sobremesas we split fondant with orange sorbet. This for me was a huge treat, and slicing the fondant was a big surprise. Total dinner with wine and port was less tha €70, for a great experience.

Espaço bastante bonito e com excelente ambiente neste novo restaurante em Matosinhos. Comida confeccionada com mestria, destacando o arroz de marisco. O atendimento é, sem margem para qualquer dúvida, um dos pontos fortes do Meia-Nau. Local a repetir vezes sem conta!
